Friends gave me the tree for my birthday back in 2001. I didn't expect it to grow, much less to bloom, but I have been gratefully wrong on both counts.
The magnolia is both the state tree and the state flower of my home state of Mississippi.

that is the most beautiful thing I've seen in a looong time. I miss looking at magnolia's they really are a beautiful flower. this is a really amazing shot too. It just looks very peaceful and inviting. Kinda like Mississippi..hmm anyways, wonderful shot. great for making me home sick.
